North American label and package printing converters have the opportunity to get an up-close-and-personal look at Cartes’ newest finishing and embellishment technology. From November 28, 2022, to March 29, 2023, the company is hosting Cartes Tech Days in Eatontown, NJ, USA.

With a host of experts from Cartes available for personalized equipment demonstrations, converters can see how their unique jobs can be elevated.

Cartes Tech Days have been designed to highlight the company’s latest digital technologies, with an emphasis on Cartes’ Invisible Laser Diecutting Technology (ILC) and its new digital foil embellishment technology. The three machines on display in Cartes’ North American facility include the Jet D-Screen Digital Foil Embellishment Press, which is complete with ILC and automatic job changeovers, a high-speed Dual Laser Diecutting machine with ILC, and a GT Foil Press with semi-rotary flexo, hot foil stamping, screen printing and patented semi-rotary diecutting.

The event serves as an opportunity to get a feel for the new equipment and capabilities, especially after years of not traveling due to the pandemic.

“Customers have the chance to see first-hand the latest in digital hot foil embellishment and Invisible Laser Diecutting Technology that is offered by Cartes,” explains Michael DeBard, president of Diversified Graphic Machinery, which serves as Cartes’ US-based representative. “Customers who visit Cartes Tech Days have a tremendous advantage to see how the innovative technology that’s offered by Cartes will allow them to run more efficiently with better job quality when utilizing some of the features and gadgets that Cartes has to offer.”

The technology has been engineered to meet customer demand for ultra-quick turnarounds, especially has more label printers incorporate digital into their printing arsenals. ILC allows print shops to run jobs directly from a PDF file, in one pass with no tools, as well as no wasting of time or materials. The Jet D-Screen allows converters to manage variable data, create multi-level effects, apply spot varnish and braille printing, security and complex tactile reliefs made by high thicknesses, fine detailed hot foil transferring and 3D doming. Plus, as DeBard notes, the laser power sourcing is backed by an unlimited lifetime warranty.

“Most all label printers today offer digital printing and have a requirement to provide their customers with digital, on-demand diecutting,” says DeBard. “Cartes offers digital laser diecutting that is backed by over 24 years of experience manufacturing laser diecutting machinery.”
